About the products

Each piece is designed with intention and handcrafted using glass, gemstone, and acrylic beads on a foundation of tarnish resistant stainless steel. I also source a lot of my materials from thrifted jewelry giving pieces destined for landfills a new life.

About me

My name is Denise and I live in Canada with my daughter, and my two rescue dogs. (Time to get super personal) I’m a single mom, and the last few years of my life were filled with fear, uncertainty, and a whole lot of chaos. During a particularly rough patch of sleep deprivation and loneliness, my sibling and I decided we were going to start doing craft nights together to have something to look forward too. One of those craft nights we decided to make beaded keychains, and it sparked a passion I had no idea was there. A few months of trial and error later, my brand Flora Invicta was born.

About the brand

Flora Invicta- what the heck does that mean? The direct translation is unconquered bloom. It’s more of a feeling, but I’m gonna do my best to put it in to words (bear with me). After flamingos have babies, their feathers fade from bright pink to a pale gray. (Flamingos??? It ties together I swear). They give so much of themselves to their babies that they lose their color, but in time their pink feathers will return. This is the concept of Flora Invicta. It’s the process of trees losing their leaves, and flowers dying just to regrow stronger and more beautiful the next season. It’s the transformation of death and rebirth, a never ending cycle that no matter how much we fear and resist is unavoidable. We’re so fearful of the phases of darkness and struggle in our lives but they give us the potential to rebuild and rediscover who we truly are. After having my daughter, it felt like I had been stripped of everything I was, but in hindsight it was the greatest gift I’ve ever been given. I’m a more authentic version of myself than ever before because I had the chance of seeing who I was without all the layers of who I was trying to portray to everyone else. We grow up being told who we are, how we should act, what we should wear, what to buy so we look the prettiest and most socially acceptable, so there is something so incredibly powerful about undoing the societal programming to figure out who we truly are.

About the logo

I’m proud to say I designed my logo myself. My inspiration came from the native Canadian wildflower fireweed. Fireweed is the first flower to grow after a wildfire, and because of this is viewed as a symbol of resilience, rebirth, and transformation. I have been fascinated with these flowers for a very long time, so when my brand was born it seemed like the perfect representation for what Flora Invicta is about. A flower that covers the landscape in a vibrant pink after something so harmful, is the perfect example that nature will persist after distruction, and so can we :)
